Massachusetts Funding Sources

Angel Flight East

Provide free air transportation to qualified patients and their families by arranging flights to distant medical facilities, delivering supplies to disaster areas, and reuniting families during desperate times. Provides transportation in the Northeastern region of the United States for distances up to 1,000 miles. The minimum distance AFE travels is 100 miles.

Asperger's Association of New England

* Family Grant - Families living in the New England area and needing funds that directly improve the life of a child with asperger syndrome or related disorder. Income requirements.

*Recreational Activities Scholarship Fund - money for specific programs and activities that relate to the social and recreational needs

The Butterfly Fund

Provides direct financial assistance to needy families of children and young adults with brain and spinal cord tumors for items not covered by other means. Must be receiving treatment at Dana-Farber/Children's Cancer Center in Boston, MA.

Catastrophic Illness in Children Relief Fund

Must be under the age of 22 and live in Massachusetts that need financial relief for large medical and related expenses,

Council Empowerment Funds Program

The Massachusetts Developmental Disabilities Council provides funds for individuals who are legal residents of Massachusetts with developmental disabilities and/or a family member or guardian to attend conferences or other events in Massachusetts or another state. Applications must be received and approved before the event. One event per family for up to a maximum of $250.

Edwin Phillips Foundation

The Foundation’s focus is on the needs of mentally and physically handicapped children. The intent is that the children will be able to remain in their own homes. Geographically, the Trustees are directed to benefit handicapped children (up to the age of 22) in the town of Marshfield, Massachusetts and children in Plymouth County, Massachusetts.

Hospitality Homes

Provides free short-term housing in volunteer host homes and donated apartments for families and friends of patients seeking care at Boston-area healthcare organizations.

Joey's Fund Family Grant Program

Joey's Fund Family Grant Program accepts grant applications from families in New England (Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire & Maine) that are in need of financial assistance for their family member(s) with autism. Families can apply for up to $2,000 through the program.

Marty Lyons Foundation

Applications will be accepted for “special wishes” only for children chronologically aged three (3) through seventeen (17) years.

The Massachusetts Alternative Finance Program

The Massachusetts Alternative Finance Program offers Massachusetts residents with disabilities and their families low-interest cash loans they can use to purchase assistive technology, devices and services that will increase their independence. The program also loans low-cost assistive devices through its Long-Term Device

Loan Program.

Room to Dream Foundation

Create healing environments in bedrooms for children and adolescents who are facing chronic illnesses.
