A Kid Again
A Kid Again's mission is to foster hope, happiness and healing for families raising kids with life threatening illnesses. They provide year round fun filled adventures that allow children to feel like a kid again. Chapters in Columbus, Cincinnati, Dayton, and Cleveland.
A New Chance Foundation
The primary mission of A New Chance Foundation is to help children with disabilities in the Greater Cincinnati area live more independent lives by providing them with much-needed mobility equipment, minor home modifications, and therapies that are not covered by insurance.
A Special Wish Foundation- Dayton Chapter
Grants the wish of a child or adolescent (birth through age 20) who has been diagnosed by a physician with a life-threatening disorder. Serving Darke, Greene, Mercer, Miami, Montgomery & Shelby Counties
Angel Flight East
Provide free air transportation to qualified patients and their families by arranging flights to distant medical facilities, delivering supplies to disaster areas, and reuniting families during desperate times. Provides transportation in the Northeastern region of the United States for distances up to 1,000 miles. The minimum distance AFE travels is 100 miles.
Avenues for Autism
Suzanne Tyner Autism Scholarship provides financial assistance to offset costs for families seeking interventions, assessments, education, and equipment not covered by insurance or traditional grants.
Beyond Words Foundation
Students living in Cuyahoga, Summit or Medina Counties with an autism diagnosis and under the age of 22. Scholarships are awarded based on need for therapies and services that are recreational in nature.
Building Blocks for Kids
BB4K's mission is to improve the quality of life for children in Greater Cincinnati with health-related needs that are unmet through traditional means by offering grants, referrals, and alternative resources. These are needs not being met due to lack of insurance, insurance coverage, government assistance, and/or family resources.
Casey Cares Foundation
Helps children being treated for cancer, brain tumors, blood disorders, lymphoma , sarcoma, and cystic fibrosis.
Different Needz Foundation
Provide grants to individuals with developmental disabilities, their families and organizations that support them to provide medical equipment and/or services. Grant applications become available in January and grant awards announced in May.
Down Syndrome Association of Greater Toledo
Provides a one-time-per-calendar year $100 scholarship to benefit an individual with DS who is interested in attending a camp, recreational, therapeutic or educational activity of their choice.
Creating Moments of JOY for families going through a serious illness with their child.
Make A Wish Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana
Make-A-Wish grants wish of children with life threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength & joy.
Mercy Medical Angels
Provide assistance with transportation to receive medical services in the air with commercial airline tickets and volunteer pilots, and on the ground with gas cards, bus and train tickets.
Midwest Council for Children with Disabilities
The Midwest Council for Children with Disabilities was founded in 1997 by a group of small business owners to provide financial assistance to children challenged physically, developmentally or cognitively. Currently accepting applications from residents in Ohio, Indiana, Wisconsin.
Northwest Apraxia Support
NWO Apraxia Support is dedicated to supporting families in NW Ohio and SE Michigan impacted by and raising awareness about Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS) and other invisible disabilities (including, but not limited to SPD, anxiety, epilepsy, non-specific learning disabilities, ADHD, dyslexia, autism, Tourette syndrome, and other speech and language disorders), as well as providing grants to fund supplemental therapies, treatments, activities, or equipment that will enhance the lives of individual children impacted by CAS and other invisible disabilities.
Paige's Princess Foundation
Paige’s Princess Foundation is a non-profit organization providing grants to pediatric patients with life-long physical/cognitive disabilities. Grants will be made to finance adaptive equipment or therapeutic services to enhance the mobility and independent function of the child. Applicants must live within 100 miles of the greater Cincinnati area or be established patients at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.
Monetary assistance up to $1,000 paid directly to the family of a child that is under 18 years old and has a life altering illness or disability
Patient Airlift Services
Arranges volunteer medical flights in the greater Northeast region as far west as Ohio and as far south as Virginia.
Monetary Assistance to offset the cost of therapy and programs to individuals with a diagnosed disability in Hancock, Wood, Allen, Putnam, Wyandot, Seneca, Sandusky and Henry Counties.
Project iAm's main goal is to provide scholarship opportunities to children living within the autism spectrum to our Toledo Area Families. As funds become available, we hope to distribute finances to families no matter how big or small the amount may be.
Provides scholarship opportunities for individuals with special needs in Northeast Ohio to apply towards a variety of Recreation Therapy based services.
Special Kids Therapy
SKT is proud to offer quarterly scholarships to financially support children with special healthcare needs and their families with the cost of non-traditional therapies or activities that are not covered by insurance.
Special Needs Grant
Community Fund offers three types grants to individuals who reside in Ohio and have a disability.
Special Needs Grant with Financial Hardship is for an Ohio resident with a disability who receives SSI, Medicaid, or any HCBS Waiver.
Special Needs Grant is for an Ohio resident with a disability who does not receive SSI, Medicaid, or any HCBS Waiver.
Grant for Former Community Fund Beneficiaries is for an Ohio resident who was a Community Fund client (beneficiary), but whose trust has closed.
The Littlest Heroes
Impact the lives of children with cancer and their families through social, emotional and financial services. Heroes Family Fund assists families struggling with fuel, groceries and other financial hardship. Adopt-A-Family Program helps families enjoy the holiday season through gifts, meals and other essential items.
West Central Ohio Abilities Collaborative
Hold many family events through the year, provide professional and individual grants, and do trainings for families and professionals that have a loved one or works with someone with disabilities. Serving Allen, Auglaize, Hardin, Mercer, Van Wert and Shelby Counties.
Wishes Can Happen
A child in Northeast Ohio between the ages of 3 through 21 who has been determined by a physician to have a life threatening illness is eligible for a wish.Covered illnesses include all cancers, many heart defects, cystic fibrosis, organ transplants, dialysis, Duchenne’s muscular dystrophy and many others.
W.orking A.nimals G.iving S.ervice 4 Kids
W.A.G.S. 4 Kids is dedicated to providing mobility and autism service dogs for children throughout northeast and central Ohio.
Zane's Foundation has a quarterly grant cycle that assists children and adults with special needs in Northeast Ohio. Special Needs is used to describe a life-ling disability attributed to a developmental and/or intellectual impairment. These disabilities affect daily functioning in the following areas: capacity for independent living, economic self sufficiency, learning, mobility, social skills, receptive and expressive language, self care skills, and self-direction.
RedTreehouse.org is Ohio's online resource providing valuable information for individuals with challenges or disabilities (prenatal to 25) and those who support them.
